My creative name is Piet Frans. I am a retired lawyer, and I live very happily with my wife, (aka “Poppiekreer”) and two dachsunds, (Petrus and Basjan), in Knysna, South Africa. As I display high resistance levels to social media, Poppiekreer has promised to help me with the website and facebook.

Since childhood cartoons and comics fascinated me. My first favourite was “Peanuts.” Later came “Tintin”, “Lucky Luke”, “Calvin and Hobbes” and “The Far Side”. I often lamented during the law years that I hadn’t had the good fortune to become a cartoonist. I did however indulge my cartooning impulses by creating personalised birthday cards, fun certificates, menus and whatever else caught my fancy.

Leaving lawyering behind has at last freed me up to indulge my ambition to be a cartoon artist. It is a lot of fun, but it would be even more fun if I could share my creations with a wider audience.

And that’s what this site is about. Of course the current main project is to publish the first book about the two bumblers, Igi nor Amos. But you will also find other fun art that I have been creating over the past few years. And then, there is a section, titled IgnorArchaeology, where you will find works from my ancient past, which had ultimately prepared me to draw Igi nor Amos.
